Here you can download free code (C# and VB) for URL rewriting with Intelligencia URL Rewriter, so that you can create user-friendly SEO links on your website.

URL rewrites is done to create more user-friendly links on a website, search engines will find URLs with parameters too. On web pages where you can add or modify data, you should not have URLs with parameters and thus not re-written URLs with parameters either because of security.

URL rewrites to create SEO links is done by creating SEO links in the code and then write code that makes it possible to interpret or translate those SEO links to links with parameters. The interpretation of a SEO link to a link with parameters means that the data sent in the URL can be used by web pages on the website.

In this template with free code for URL rewriting have we created SEO links for categories in a menu on a master page and SEO links to content pages on a category page. The interpretation of SEO links is done in the "Web.config" file and we have used Intelligencia URL Rewrite to interpret our user-friendly links.

In order to use Intelligencia URL Rewrite for URL rewriting do you have to do some settings in the "web.config" file and also have the "Intelligencia.UrlRewriter.dll", "Intelligencia.UrlRewriter.dll.refresh" and "Intelligencia.UrlRewriter.xml" files placed in the "Bin" folder. This free template includes an instruction of the settings that must be done in the "Web.config" file.

Remember that you in your web hosting account must have made a setting for the correct version of "ASP.NET" on your website (the version listed in the "Web.config" file).
