In order for you to manage your server computers, you typically need remote access to those computers that normally are outsourced to specific data centers. Remote access means that you via Internet or a internal network can connect to another computer on from your own computer and then perform work on this remote computer in accordance with the privileges that come with the user account that you are signed in with.
In order to be able to connect to another computer over the Internet or a internal network must the remote computer that you should connect to be configured to allow remote connections and have one or more user accounts that you know the username and password of. It is not possible to remotely access a computer with Windows Home or Starter editions and there is no possibility to connect to a remote computer with a user without a password.
When you are connecting to a remote computer, enter the host name, domain name or IP address of the remote computer and sign in with username and password for a user that exists on the remote computer. When you connect to a remote computer through remote desktop you will see the desktop for the remote computer and can work on the remote computer just as if it was your own computer.
