Marketing plan is a free template to create a marketing plan for your company's marketing. A marketing plan is a plan for what activities and actions to be implemented in the company during the coming year based on the long-term marketing objectives and the long-term marketing strategy.

A marketing plan is drawn up once a year and contains a company description, current situation analysis, long-term marketing objectives, long-term marketing strategy and concrete actions or measures to be implemented when it comes to marketing. A situation analysis is a description of the present and future market, products, competitors and distribution situation. A marketing plan also contains a SWOT analysis that is a type of situation analysis in which external threats and opportunities and the company's internal strengths and weaknesses are described and analyzed. When the current situation analysis and the SWOT analysis has been made, the company's long-term objectives and long-term strategy for marketing are formulated or reformulated.

The long-term marketing objectives and marketing strategy is the starting point for the concrete actions or measures to be implemented in the company to achieve the long-term goals and implement the marketing strategy.

Marketing is important in businesses because sale is essential for the survival of businesses, the market plan is designed to formalize and establish the plans and ideas for the marketing in the company. A marketing plan should also assign responsibility to managers or responsible persons in the company's sales organization in relation to the activities and measures to be taken during the year.

To the marketing plan investment calculations can be attached that indicate the long-term profitability of different marketing investments. It's easier to get approval of marketing investments if there is a quantitative decision-making report that are easy to understand and that demonstrate the profitability of an investment in marketing.

The marketing plan should also include a marketing budget which reflects the sale to be expected and the costs arising from the activities and actions to be taken for marketing during the year. Finally, it should describe how the market plan should be monitored and evaluated, what should be measured and when should it be measured.
